Seniors

"The glory of the young is their strength; the grey hair of experience is the splendor of the old."

Proverbs 20:29

We strongly encourage our seniors at Benton to participate in our regular men’s and women’s ministries, but we do have some additional programs that are specifically designed for those with plenty of life experience.

Young At Heart

The Young at Heart group for seniors meets at 10:00 AM on the second Thursday of each month (except July and August) in Benton's Fellowship Hall. We enjoy a variety of programs that include lively singing, devotional speakers, guest musicians, travelogues, missionary speakers, health practitioners, and others with topics of interest and concern to seniors. It's a great opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy fellowship, and learning something new.

Caregiver Support Group

This group aims to support and encourage those who are a primary caregiver to a loved one who is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Co-led by a social worker and a former chaplain, participants in this group will be provided with helpful information as well as an opportunity to share and pray together.

Join our Congregational Visiting Team

Is encouraging others important to you? Do you enjoy one-to-one conversation? Would you like to make a difference in someone else's life? If so, please consider joining the Benton Team of Volunteer Visitors, supporting those in our church family who are needing a special touch. These visits are coordinated by our Director of Congregational Care, Brandy Peters. Training sessions are offered throughout the year.

If this is of interest to you, please contact Brandy at brandy@benton.church.
