24th Annual Christmas Festival
Whether you are a first time guest at Benton’s Christmas Festival or one of the many who have made our Christmas Festivals a part of their Christmas celebrations for years, we are happy that you have come. Our Director of Worship, Julia Rogler, has been hard at work planning, overseeing, rehearsing and recording with various ensembles in preparation for this presentation. We are also pleased to feature a number of pieces that were recorded in past years featuring Dr. Doug Thomson conducting our choir along with the Heritage Singers and an orchestra made up of members from the Kitchener waterloo Chamber Orchestra and beyond.
The music included in this year’s program reflects a variety of styles from the light-hearted to the deeply reflective. Our theme, “The Thrill of Hope” reminds us of the awestruck response of those in attendance on the night of Jesus birth. The angels filled the night sky outside Bethlehem declaring how thrilled they were at the birth of Jesus. The shepherds saw Jesus and returned to their fields glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen. With all the upheaval in the world today, we need to be reminded of “The Thrill of Hope” found in Jesus Christ our Lord.
We hope you will be blessed and inspired by what you see and hear in our program and most of all, that you will be touched in a fresh way by the message these pieces contain.
On behalf of the entire Benton Street Baptist Church family, I wish for you the joy and blessing of a Christmas marked by a profound sense of awe and wonder as you are filled with “The Thrill of Hope”.
